3068 project proposals have been submitted under the procedure “Support for Sustainable Energy Renovation of Residential Building Stock - Stage I”.

After a huge public interest, the application process for the procedure “Support for Sustainable Energy Renovation of the Residential Building Stock - Stage I”, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, “Green Bulgaria” pillar, was successfully completed today.

By the deadline of 01 June 2023, 152 municipal administrations had submitted a total of 3068 project proposals. Their total value exceeds several times the available budget. The amount of the envisaged grant under the procedure is BGN 1 129 881 600, and of the received project proposals is BGN 3 972 426 084,04.

After the deadline, the proposals will be evaluated and ranked, and the approved multi-family residential buildings will receive up to 100% of the grant. The expectations and benefits for them are to meet the main objectives of the programme by improving their energy performance, reaching energy consumption class “B”, reducing the energy consumption of the country, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, achieving 30% primary energy savings for each site of the residential building stock, reducing energy costs improving living conditions and quality of life through technological renovation and modernisation of the building stock.

The procedure was launched on 20.12.2022, and all owners of multi-family residential buildings that are managed under the Condominium Management Act and were designed before 26 April 1999 were given the opportunity to apply.
