INTERREG VІ-А IPA Bulgaria-Serbia 2021-2027

INTERREG VI-A IPA Bulgaria-Serbia 2021-2027 is a cross-border cooperation programme financed by the European Union with funds from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III).

The general objective of the programme is to strengthen the territorial cohesion of the cross-border region Bulgaria-Serbia by providing framework support to local businesses for growth and expansion, for better performance in a greener and smarter competitive global market, supporting enterprises through direct production investments to increase productivity and support joint actions to prevent the risk of natural and man-made hazards through inter-institutional coordination for risk prevention and rapid response management, harmonization of procedures and approaches, and preparation of citizens for disaster response.

The programme area covers the districts of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Sofia region, Pernik and Kyustendil on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and the districts of Bor, Zaichar, Nishava, Toplica, Pirot, Yablanica and Pchinya on the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

The total budget of the programme is EUR 38 116 398.

The programme will finance projects under three priorities: Competitive Border Region, Integrated Development of the Border Region and More Sustainable Border Region, which will implement a pre-defined project of strategic importance related to preparing the population for disaster response and increasing the capacity of emergency response professionals in the cross-border area.

Beneficiaries can be local/regional authorities, regional structures of central public authorities, non-governmental organizations, academic and training institutions, research and development activities, social institutions, SMEs and their professional organizations, MSMEs.

The Managing Authority of the programme is the "Territorial Cooperation Management" Directorate at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria, and the National Authority of the Programme is the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia.
