Varna will be able to submit projects for interventions in cultural heritage sites of national and world importance to the Tourism Infrastructure Fund, which will provide combined financing through grants under Operational Programme ꞌRegions in growthꞌ 2014-2020 and low-interest loans. This was announced by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Mrs. Lilyana Pavlova, on her visit to the city today.

In such projects will be invested between BGN 200 million and 300 million. Activities such as conservation and restoration, regeneration, protection, exhibiting, socialising, equipment of tourist attractions, monasteries, castles and others will receive grant financing, while project activities, generating income, may rely on long-term low-interest loans, she explained.

In addition, funds under the Operational Programme will support the emergency aid reform, which is part of the Healthcare Sector. Over BGN 160 million will be invested in all district cities, including Varna, as well as in more than 170 towns, informed Pavlova. Emergency medical care centers and their branches will be rehabilitated and equipped through these funds. 400 modern ambulances are expected to be purchased too. This is an opportunity for Varna and the cities in the district as well as for all other municipalities in Bulgaria to build on the investments that have been made so far, said the Regional Minister.
