Association “Maritsa-Highway” has offered the lowest price bid for the construction of Lot 2 “Maritsa Motorway

The lowest price for the execution of Lot 2 – Maritsa motorway was made by the association “Maritsa Highway” - 122 137 000 leva, excluding VAT. The highest was the one of “Terna SA”, Greece- 171 500 000 leva, VAT excluded. This became clear today, during the opening of the price bids for a contractor for further design and construction in the section between Dimitrovgrad and Harmanli.

The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Rosen Plevneliev noted that the number of admission offers for the construction of Lot 2 of the motorway was impressive. 14 participants submitted their bids in the auction, 10 of them were admitted to the price offers’ opening. “J & P - Avaks “SA, Greece and the companies “Mapa Ve Ticaret A. Inshaat”- Turkey, DZZD “Ingear” and “Pitsaroti EMU - Lot 2” DZZD were disqualified by the commission.

“It is a quite exceptional competition, which shows that companies are becoming more professional and make fewer mistakes in the preparation of bids”, said Minister Plevneliev. “The application form for Maritsa motorway is checked by Jaspers”, the Minister added.

The 34.4-kilometer stretch Dimitrovgrad - Harmanli is expected to be funded under the Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013.
