Beginning of the western part of the Sofia ring road construction

The Minister of regional development and public works Lilyana Pavlova attended a ceremony, marking the beginning of the three- kilometer section construction of the west part of Sofia ring road.  Road  ІІ-18 „Sofia ring road from the section кm 59+400 to km 61+629.18 and from km 0+000 to km 0+780“  is co- financed by the Cohesion Fund of the EU under OP “Transport”.

This section is part of Ljulin speedway as well as part of the European Transport corridor № 4, connecting Vidin - Kulata. By completing of this project, a connection to Serbia will be established through the section, which is currently under construction in Bulgaria. 

 The section will include three large equipments of 945 m length – ring along „Tzaritsa Yoanna” blvd, three- level road at the crossing point on “Slivnitsa” boulevard, which is the most complicated equipment from site to and a new bridge over the Kakach River.

“The project shall be completed for the next 22 months. This investment is about BGN 60 million for the construction and expropriation of the properties. Each coin is worthed as we all have experienced that traffic“, Minister Pavlova said.
