Bulgaria and Israel will co-operate in the field of water

The Council of Ministers approved an Agreement between the Governments of Bulgaria and Israel on cooperation in the field of water. The document was signed on March 24 by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works - Petya Avramova and the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Bulgaria, HE Yoram Elron.

The agreement outlines a common framework for cooperation in the field of water at national and international level. The focus of the bilateral partnership will be on the following thematic areas: water conservation; use and reuse of treated wastewater; water efficiency; groundwater; desalination, including high-salt wastewater management; energy efficiency; an integrated approach to water management, including but not limited to water prices; intelligent control and satellite monitoring systems; water security; public education and awareness of the domestic water sector; adaptation to and mitigation of climate change and sustainable development of the water sector; water- sensitive urban design, collection, treatment and targeted use of rainwater.
