The European Commission grants Bulgaria an additional 2 million euros, which will increase the funds for cross-border cooperation programmes with the participation of our country in the programming period 2021-2027. This is clear from the updated Methodology and indicative distribution of funds from the European Regional Development Fund under programs for transnational and cross-border cooperation for Bulgaria for the programming period 2021 - 2027

In the next seven years, our country is expected to receive a total of 135.5 million euros to finance territorial cooperation programmes. Of these, 113.1 million euros are directed to Bulgaria's bilateral programs with Romania, Greece, Serbia, the Republic of Northern Macedonia and Turkey, and 22 to the budget of the transnational programs "Danube", "Mediterranean Sea" and "Black Sea Basin" – 22.4 million euros.

Demographic and territorial indicators, as well as economic and social challenges facing the regions, have been taken into account in setting budgets, with less developed territories being a priority.
