The Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Mrs. Denitsa Nikolova, met the Deputy Minister of local government of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Ljupco Prendzhov, in Skopje. They discussed the launch of INTERREG IPA Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 as well as the upcoming obligations of both countries, related to its successful implementation.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss all the matters, related to securing  the successful implementation of the programme. Topics, such as verification of costs, combined project financing through the national budged and EU funds, management of funds under the priority axis for technical assistance, quality criteria for project selection and contracting, were discussed.

The Programme is important for the cross border cooperation between the localities on both sides of the border, as well as for Bulgarian organizations and institutions. We want the implementation of the new projects to start quickly, due to the high expectations of the regions, said Deputy Minister Denitsa Nikolova. She emphasized the serious work that lies ahead in order to achieve the objectives that have been set.

Deputy Minister Prendzhov expressed his satisfaction with the joint programme and said that it is a priority for the Republic of Macedonia. We expect to achieve even more success in the programming period up to 2020, noted the Deputy Minister, considering the achievements during the previous programming period and the implemented projects.
