Deputy Minister Iskra Mihaylova spoke with representatives of the British Embassy

The Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Iskra Mihaylova spoke today with representatives of the Commercial Section of the British Embassy. The meeting was initiated by the British side and its purpose was to discuss the possibilities for experience and cooperation exchange with organizations from Great Britain in the area of development and implementation of projects related to restoration, recultivation and improvement activities for regeneration of the inhabited places. Mrs. Christine McNeill, British Embassy First Secretary, shared the vast UK experience in activities related to the restoration of the physical environment and the reconstruction of deserted industrial terrains in economically underdeveloped areas. At the meeting was drawn the framework of the main spheres of potential cooperation between the British side and MRDPW, related to experience exchange, expert level education and enheartening of the participation of the private sector in the development of projects through public-private partnerships. An agreement was made that MRDPW should send the British Embassy actual information on the priorities of the National Strategy for Regional Development, the Operative Program for Regional Development and the Regional Plans for 2007-2013. Deputy Minister Iskra Mihaylova accepted Mrs. McNeill’s invitation to participate in spring in business meetings with British companies, regularly organised by the Embassy.
