We have joint our efforts to improve the life standards and increase the competitiveness of our companies. We have to try making the Danube region different through our joint efforts. That was noted by the Deputy Minister of Regional development and Public Works Nikolina Nikolova in Ruse. She attended the signature of a contract for financing under the project “Improving the accessibility of region Ruse-Gyurgevo through Pan- European corridor 9”.
Deputy Minster Nikolova underlined that this will establish the beginning of the infrastructure development and the accessibility improvement. Thus, it will lead to tourism and economics development in both regions.
This project is under a program for Pan- European cooperation Romania –Bulgaria 2007-2013. Partners are the municipalities of Ruse and Gyurgevo. This contract is going to be signed by the Mayor of Ruse Plamen Stoylov and the Secretary of State of the Ministry of regional development and tourism of the Republic of Romania Marcel Ioan Bolos.
The main purposes are to improve the transport infrastructure and optimize the traffic coordination in the area as part of the Pan European transport corridor 9. In Ruse the area along Tutrakan boulevard is included. It reaches the Danube bridge. It is foreseen to reconstruct and rehabilitate the main communication networks – electrical, water supply and telecommunications, and to repair and enlarge the road.
The project budget is amounting to 6.8 million Euros. The European Union has allocated 4.7 million Euros to Ruse Municipality. The Ministry of Regional development and Public Works is allocating about 700 000 Euros from the State budget. The Municipality of Ruse will provide 166 000 Euro. The contract shall be completed for 36 months
