Deputy Minister Vitanova launched the construction activities to increase the energy efficiency of a building

“I am delighted that the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has benefited from the measure under the Recovery and Resilience Plan and today we are launching the renovation works that will modernise this beautiful building.” An investment of over BGN 5 million has been provided to increase the energy efficiency of the building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Rectorate Training Corps - 73 Tsarigradsko Shosse Blvd. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Yura Vitanova at the announcement of the start of construction activities under the project. The event was also attended by the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Art. Evelina Slavcheva, Acad. Julian Revalski and Mariyana Ivanova, Deputy Mayor for Education, Culture, e-Government and Sport of the Municipality of Slatina. The building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences houses the Institute of Biology and Immunology of Reproduction, which has not been repaired for more than forty years. The funds are provided under the procedure ‘Increasing energy efficiency in public buildings of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences’. The funding provided is entirely with a grant. Through the funds provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, an investment project will be prepared, which includes thermal insulation of the external walls, replacement of the old wooden joinery, thermal insulation of the roof of the building, structural strengthening of the building, providing an accessible environment and fire safety measures of the building. The deadline for performance of the contract is 01.06.2026.
