Desislava Terzieva: “Hemus” speedway is a priority of the government

The Minister expressed her satisfaction of the completed construction and repair works and congratulated the builders for finishing the project ahead of schedule for less than 180 days. To renovate and reinforce the bridge which was compromised by the high waters of the Osum River BGN 1.8 million were invested from the state budget. 

 

The Minister inspected also a section of the second class Pleven-Lovec road of a length of about 8 km which is funded under the Public investment program of the government. The investment is for over BGN 2 million. „ Our ambition is to pay also serious attention to small populated areas. Our purpose is to reduce the discrepancies between the regions. We continue to invest – not only in large projects but also in renovating the small roads which were neglected for the last 4 years, Terzieva pointed out. 

 

The Minister of Regional Development noticed that up to the end of the year 11 projects of the municipalities will be funded under the Public investment program of the government in the Lovec region  with more then BGN 5.3 million. Together with the resources for republic roads the additional investments from the state budget for the region are over BGN 7 million. 

 

Before journalists Minister Terzieva explained that over 100 bridge equipments in the country need to be repaired. The equipments will be repaired according to the budget possibilities as most dangerous one will be considered as priority. The Minister mentioned that three viaducts are work on as a priority and they are along “Trakia’ and “Hemus” speedways. Their repair will be finished up to the end of the year. 

 

To a question about the activities of preparation of the European elections Minister Terzieva replied that they are going according to schedule. The government is doing all necessary preparation activities. We meet the Central elections commission often and I do not worry about the organization and preparation works for the elections. 

 

Regarding “Hemus” speedway the Minister assured that it is a priority of the government. At this stage the procurement procures are held to prepare a preliminary design.  The procurement procedure for assignment of a contractor for the design of the section from Yablanitsa to the road fork Pleven Lovec is already chosen, a procedure for the section from Lovec to Veliko Turnovo is announced, informed Terzieva.  She added that the preliminary way of “Trakia” speedway was presented in March to the Consultative council to the MRD.
