Desislava Terzieva: Over BGN 13 million will be invested in 16 projects in Vidin region under the Public Investment Program of government

Over BGN 13 million will be invested in 16 projects in Vidin region under the Public Investment Program of the government. This stated the Minister of Regional Development Desislava Terzieva, after the briefing at the Council of Ministers. She noticed that 14 projects of the municipalities and two of the District administration will be financed with more then BGN 8 million. Activities like improvement of the road and water supply infrastructure, renovation of social housing, schools and community centers will be financed anteriorly.

Regarding the road projects, Minister Terzieva noticed, that about 30 km of road network will be rehabilitated in Vidin. Resources will be invested in the building of a new 4 km section to the future border crossing point Salash –Novo Korito. The resources for these sites amount to BGN 7 million and will be provided under the Public Investment Program. “We will begin the repairs in spring. The purpose is to finish the sites by the end of the year”, Terzieva explained. She noticed that this year one serious problem of Vidin inhabitants will be resolved. The Government provided to the Municipality of Vidin BGN 2.7 million for a complete repair of a rail overhead crossing along Panonia Boulevard, which impedes the traffic in the city for years and is a problem.

The Minister mentioned that through the Road infrastructure agency will be repaired about 14 km of the third class road Lom-Ruzhintci- Chuprene – “Bialata voda” area. It is foreseen to repair 10km and to reconstruct and build new 5 km of the third class road Archar-Izvor- Dimovo-Salash, which hadn’t been repaired for 40 years.

Minister Terzieva announced, that a reparation of the Drenovets- Ruzhinci road will begin up to a month. “I, personally, passed through the pot-holed road. We are now making calculations and up to a month we’ll start the refurbishment, to repair the holes and secure the traffic”, underlined Minister Terzieva.
Regarding the ring road of Dimovo, the Minister informed, that the required designs are under preparation. The construction is planned to start in 2015 and its indicative price is BGN 10 million.
