Desislava Terzieva: The design of “Neykovci” dam must be finished up to June 2015

A contract of investigation of the site, preparation of a technical design and procurement documents for assignment of a subcontractor, who will complete ‘Neykovci” dam, was signed today by the Minister of Regional Development  Desislava Terzieva and Dr. Patrice Droz – Technical director of Stucky Ltd.

The contract term is 15 months and its value is Euro 1.25 milliard VAT included, announced Minister Terzieva. We expect to finish the design up to June 2015. By this time the indicative value for the coplmetion of the facility, together with the treatment plant and derivations, will be known. Then we will be able to make an action plan for the construction work, she said. I hope that construction will start in 2016, until when expropriating procedures shall be done, added the Minister of Regional Development.  

Today’s contract signing is in pursuance with the government's policy to continue the improvement of the water supply in the state. This is a part of the reform in the water supply and sewerage sector, said Desislava Terzieva.
 
The design of “Neykovci” dam was negotiated two years ago, but was not done because state resources were not available, said also the Minister of Regional Development. She mentioned, that this year’s state budget ensures about BGN 23 million to co finance the state investment loans of the World Bank. So the construction of “Plovdivci” and “Luda Yana” dams, the rehabilitation of “Studena’ and the design of “Neykovci” dams with its potable water treatment plant and its derivations can  start, mentioned Minister Terzieva.
