Discussion on the EU Strategy for the Danube region is held in the town of Vidin

The Minster of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova is presenting the Bulgarian progress in the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region on June 30, 2012 at the town of Vidin. Also, she is introduced the Road map of the joint Bulgarian-Romanian project for the development of the River’s navigation.
The discussion on the mention above is to be held at 17.30 at the conference room of the regional administration in Vidin. Minister Pavlova is the national coordinator for the Danube Strategy for Bulgaria.

Also, the EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn will be present at the meeting, as well as the minister of interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov and the Minister without portfolio, charged of EU funds management Tomislav Donchev.
The advance on Priority axis 11 “Security” is also going to be presented during the meeting as well as Priority axis 3 “Tourism” by the Bulgarian coordinators responsibe  for them- Head Commissioner Kalin Georgiev and Deputy Minister Ivo Marinov.
Earlier that day an inspection for the construction of the bridge at Vidin-Kalafat were done from the Bulgarian site of the works. It will be held at the presence of the Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and the Minister of Finances Simeon Dyankov, as well as Romanian officials.
At 16.30 at the Ferry Compound- Vidin a National full scale training “Protection 2012” will be held. It is organized by the Ministry of Interior. A joint demonstration of teams by Bylgarian and Romanian side will take part in it. The demonstration will include dismantling a crime group, carrying illegal substances and a hostage release. Also, is includes limiting dangerous chemical leakage, putting out fire and evacuation of the people. Thus, the possibilities of cooperation between Romania and Bulgaria will be tested, regarding the Danube Strategy.
