DNCS examined 11 812 construction sites in 2005

A total of 11 812 examinations have been performed by the Directorate for National Construction Supervision in 2005. As a result 3027 Acts for malpractice have been issued for legal offences and the necessary actions under the Law of the Spatial Planning have been undertaken. 162 legal procedures have been launched against 126 municipality chief architects and other functionaries from the municipality administrations for performed offences on LSP and its enforcement Acts. The issued orders for complete or partial cessation of the construction work are 997 and for banned access – 217. In 2005 have been issued 674 demolition orders for illegal buildings or parts of them. 242 illegal buildings have been removed. 2539 thematic checks have been carried out for clarification of the legal status of the Globul, Mobiltel and Vivatel mobile operators base stations. The examinations on the Black Sea coastline construction sites number 296; those on night clubs, discotheques, internet clubs, restaurants etc. in the bigger towns are 161; the examinations on industrial buildings are 961. 1413 checks on construction supervision bodies performing supervision on construction sites from 1st to 4th rate have been carried out. 3166 licenses for use have been issued and 469 are for the territory of Sofia city.
