Minister Komitova agreed with Minister Vassilev a 1.5 billion BGN for RIA

The issue of providing funds for the preparation for operation of the national roads in the winter season 2021/2022 was discussed at a meeting at the MRDPW today by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works - Violeta Komitova and the Minister of Finance - Assen Vassilev. It was agreed to provide the necessary BGN 100 million for winter cleaning of the national roads during the upcoming winter period.

Minister Komitova asked Minister Vassilev to provide BGN 1.5 billion for the Road Infrastructure Agency and received assurances that the funds will be pledged in the preparation of the next state budget. The current budget of the RIA is BGN 382 million. It is envisaged that it will be supplemented by another BGN 1.2 billion in the medium-term budget forecast.

The meeting was also attended by the regional deputy ministers Valentin Gramatikov and Zahari Hristov, the management and experts from the Road Infrastructure Agency and Highways Ltd.
