A German company is interested in implementing a pilot project for Southeast Europe for training and retraining of workers in the field of new technologies for energy efficiency and reduction of carbon dioxide pollution. Up to 10,000 people a year can be covered in our country for the construction of solar facades, biofuel containers and phase external and internal insulation in buildings. Priority will be given to retraining in sectors that are subject to restructuring, as well as employees of mining companies affected by the implementation of the "green transition". The project was presented at a meeting of the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works - arch. Violeta Komitova and her advisor Georgi Kolarov with representatives of Forte Global - Julian Marvitz, Tereza Boynova and Evgeni Ivanov from Euroconsultance Bulgaria, a partner of the company in Bulgaria.

The proposal provides for the creation of a joint project between the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and the German company to apply for funding from the European Commission under the Just Transition Plan.

The implementation of such an initiative would be a prerequisite for the creation of thousands of "green" jobs in the sector of sustainable energy renovation of the building stock. Such technologies are used successfully in Germany and Switzerland, it became clear at the meeting.

Arch. Kolarov pointed out that our country envisages the rehabilitation of many buildings under the Recovery and Resilience Plan and well-trained staff is needed, as the new energy efficiency program will include measures for sustainability of projects.

Minister Komitova proposed to the German company to submit a formal proposal for partnership in the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, which sets out in detail the objectives and requirements of the project in order to proceed with implementation.
