Minister Koritarova met with Thomas Schmidt, Minister of Regional Development of Saxony

Regional policy, urban development, reduction of territorial disparities and green transition were discussed by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Eng. Violeta Koritarova and Thomas Schmidt, Minister of Regional Development of Saxony. They discussed possibilities for future cooperation in the areas of competence of the two ministries, including in the field of surveying and cartography. “Bulgaria has achieved very good results in the field of geodesy, cartography and cadastre, as the geodatabase and cadastre have been in digital form for over 20 years. There is 100% digitalization,” Minister Koritarova stressed.
During the meeting, attention was also drawn to the importance of cooperation between European regions and universities and scientific institutions in order to harness the scientific potential for regional development.
Minister Schmidt praised our country for the results achieved since our accession to the EU, stressing that we should focus on what we have achieved and build on it.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Jura Vitanova, Kiril Gaberov - Head of the Cabinet, Moritz Sailer - Head of the Economic Section of the Embassy, Heiko Schmidt - Consul General of Bulgaria in Saxony, as well as officials of the Regional Ministry of the Province of Saxony.
