Minister Koritarova: We modernized 450 educational institutions in the country

Any investment in the construction and modernization of educational infrastructure is an investment in our children - the future of Bulgaria. This said the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Eng. Violeta Koritarova at the launch of the construction of a new educational building at the National Natural and Mathematical High School “Academician Lyubomir Chakalov” in Sofia. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education and Science prof. Galin Tsokov, Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality Ivan Vasilev, Mayor of Lozenets Konstantin Pavlov, Vanya Kastreva - Head of Regional Education Department, Sofia-city, teachers and students, representatives of the builder and the supervision.

The construction works are implemented under the Ministry of Education and Science's programme for the construction, extension, extension and reconstruction of nurseries, kindergartens and schools. Additionally, a gymnasium with a multi-purpose hall will be built, necessary for the development of the high school. After the commissioning of the two buildings, all students will be taught in one shift.

Minister Koritarova noted that the modernization of the educational infrastructure in Bulgaria is also a priority in the programs of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works. She reminded that in the period 2014-2020, 450 schools with more than 250,000 pupils across the country were modernized and reconstructed with funds from the Operational Programme “Regions in Growth”. “This is an investment in the future of children. Education is a lot of hard work for many people, but I am convinced that infrastructure and facilities are also very important for our children to reach their potential and be decent people,” the Minister said.

Violeta Koritarova wished success to the builder, the construction supervision and the contracting authority and quick realization of the project. She expressed her hope that some of the graduates of the National High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics will be able to work in the field of construction and investment to create new public and private buildings to change Bulgaria.
