The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Mrs. Lilyana Pavlova, and the Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency, eng. Lazarov, met the Deputy-Prime Minister, Mr. Batir Zakirov – Head of the Complex on the issues of Construction sector, Industry, Construction material, Housing and Municipal services and Transport and a Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Architecture and Construction.

Minister Pavlova informed Deputy Prime Minister Zakirov about the Bulgarian government policy regarding the infrastructure development and support for the regions. A special focus was given on the Targeted Investment Programme developed by the government to support the less economically developed areas. She explained that the Programme envisages an analysis of the potential of these regions as well as the funding sources of the most important projects, which would stimulate the development of certain sectors and increase living standard. Attention was also paid to the water reform in the country, as well as the investments in urban environment and the development of tourist sights.

Eng. Lazar Lazarov presented to Deputy Prime Minsiter Zakirov the development of the road infrastructure in Bulgaria and the projects implemented in the recent years. Within the conversation  Mr. Zakirov put some of the encountered problems regarding the construction of road projects in the country. Eng. Lazarov presented the Bulgarian experience in the quality control in the road infrastructure construction, quality and control systems as well as the technologies used in the recent years.
