The funds provided by the European programs for infrastructure projects are not sufficient, so Bulgaria is open to public-private partnership. Black Sea Highway and the connection Bulgaria-Rumania through Vidin are the strategic road projects for public-private partnership. We plan the construction of Vidin-Botevgrad speed road. The projects of great priority were presented on the 4th forum for Economy and Trade in Beograd, Serbia by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works. The event is part of the Initiative for collaboration between from the Central and East European countries and the Republic of China.
Minister Pavlova pointed out the connection between Ruse and Veliko Tarnovo to be the third project of priority for public-private partnership. Strategic and important priority for both countries, Bulgaria and Serbia, is the project that runs along corridor 10. This is Sofia – Kalotina highway, said the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works. Rila highway is a significant project and it is a connection to three European corridors, explained Minister Pavlova. In the full of audience Sava congress hall of Beograd she highlighted that 5 of the ten European corridors pass through Bulgaria and they are a direct and fast transport link between Europe and Asia.
Minister Pavlova thanked to the investors who are part of the Chinese delegation for one of the biggest investments in Bulgaria made three years ago and that finished during this year – the investment in the area of Devnya Cement plant. Its total cost is about 150 million euro. The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works used the opportunity to invite other representatives of the Chinese business for joint initiatives in the coming year.
Minister Pavlova highlighted that the new government of Bulgaria had been formed the previous month and it was aimed at politically and economically stabilizing the country. As a second goal the Minister defined the construction of infrastructure. She pointed out that MRDPW is the institution that controls the construction process and plans the infrastructure development. MRDPW is also responsible for the construction of the road infrastructure in the country through ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE AGENCY.
