Minister Pavlova reported on MRDPW’s progress for 2012.

The Minister of regional development and public works Lilyana Pavlova reported on MRDPW’s progress for 2012 during a press conference today. The operational 82 km of speedway Trakia and the rehabilitated 543 km of national roads are estimated to 346 million BGN, are major progress in the road field, she informed. Minister Pavlova reminded that the building of LOTS 1 and 4 of the speedway Struma, as well as two other lots of speedway Maritsa, are to be completed shortly. The operational South part of the ring road Sofia is done and the construction of the west part of the ring road and Lulin speedway will start as well, Minister Pavlova said. By constructing a north road section of Sofia, one renovated road will connect three speedways Trakia, Hemus and Lulin, she added. As a great pride Minister Pavlova mentioned the agreed 90% of the budget under Operational Program „Regional development “2007-2013. She added that by the end of the year they are expected to be 95%. She announced that 966 contracts have been signed recently and the payments under them are estimated to 878 million BGN. The challenge for us is the successful completion of ongoing projects during this programming period, so that we can agree for more resources for next one, said the Minister of regional development. It is important to create new, improved environment for unprivileged children, living in institutions and this shall be done by the end of next year. This will be possible by completing the signed 62 contracts for deinstitutionalization of social structures, offering services for children under risk. It amounts to 104 million BGN. Up to now 117 applications are submitted, and the Ministry experts have conducted over 400 consultations with people interested in renovation of multi family residences. It is expected to approve new ones next week and their completion is forthcoming. Over 8000 sites are checked by the National construction survey directorate for 9 months, said minister Pavlova. She specified that, over 2300 acts for infraction have been issued and fines over 1 million BGN have been imposed.  The removal of 190 illegal sites at the sea side and dams is over, announced Minister Pavlova. Over 1 million BGN are the imposed sanctions for beach property owners. They result from the conducted 400 checks this year, so free access to the beaches and good service for citizens may be provided, reported Minister Pavlova.

Also, the determined the work of the Chief directorate GRAO as successful, which managed to confirmed impartially and in short term over 500 thousand signatures part of a subscription list for a referendum for development of atom energy in the country. During the pres conference some of the journalists were rewarded for their objective and fair view on the work of the Ministry during this year.
 Diplomas were given to representatives of   the Bulgarian telegraphic agency, Focus radio, and BTV and Capital newspaper. Specialized newspapers such as Stroytel and Stroytelstvo Gradut have also been awarded. Minister Pavlova also presented the winner of a concourse for visualization of the future Operational Program for Regional development for the period 2014-2020.
