‘We continue to work on the by-passes of Pomorie and Aheloy as well as on the road section between the two towns’, said the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Lilyana Pavlova, in Nesebar, where she took part in the 8th National Road Conference.
The tender procedure for selection of constructor of the by-pass road of Pomorie is about to end, the tender offers of the participants have been considered and a contractor must be selected up to the end of November. A little bit behind is the proceeding of the tender for selection of a contractor for the by-pass of Aheloy, added Pavlova.
Meanwhile the plot plans have to be considered and be adopted by an expert commission. Then they have to be submitted for adoption by the Council of Ministers, clarified she. After that the process of appropriation of lands will start, as “we are going to rely on the assistance of the local authorities.” “I expect the active construction work would be able to start in 2017, if funding is provided”, said the Minister.
Pavlova reminded that the tender procedure on choosing a contractor for construction of the road between the two towns, has been cancelled due to the fact that all of the received bids were higher than the preliminary planned budget.
In the interim, the Environmental Impact Assessment Report, which provides additional serious measures regarding the construction of the road, has been issued, said she. Presently, the project work is near completion, as the road has to be raised by about 1 meter as well as extra equipment and activities for environment and animal species protection have to be provided, explained the Minister, adding that this would cause the project’s target price to rise to BGN 24 million.
After the final completion of the project, a new tender procedure for selection of a contractor will be announced, said the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, adding that the implementation of the project will be provided through targeted funding by the national budget, owing to its new price.
