Minister Plevneliev is bestowing the prizes “Building of the Year”

Minister Plevneliev is bestowing the prizes “Building of the Year”, which are part of the category culture, science and religion, on the Opera in Stara Zagora and the renovated Inn “Hadzhi Nikoli” (built by Kolyu Ficheto) in Veliko Turnovo. The traditional ceremony of the competition “Building of the Year” is being held this evening, 16 December 2010, at “Kempinski Hotel Zografski”. City Media Group organizes the competition nine years in a row, under the patronage of MRDPW and with the kind assistance of the organizations of the branch of architecture and construction in Bulgaria.
Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ekaterina Zaharieva is chairperson of the jury this year. As one, she distinguished buildings, erected during the year, in 11 categories and gave special awards for the preservation of cultural heritage, urban regeneration, innovations and scale.
Culture, education, health, history and religion are the big winners in the “Building of the Year 2010”. The nominations show that, even in crisis, the branch is able to meet the needs on the revival of the monument-buildings, providing new schools, hospitals and constructing significant public sites, and the additional infrastructure to them, as well as the renovation of urban areas.
