Minister Plevneliev will participate in a meeting along with the ministers of regional policy in Zaragoza

The Minister of Regional development and Public works Rosen Plevneliev will take part in an informal meeting of the ministers of regional policy of the countries, part of the EU, in Zaragoza, Spain, on 18-19th February.

Subject of the meeting will be the discussion of the Cohesion policy of the EU, the economic effectiveness of the cohesion in the context of economic crisis. Another matter will be the strategy and priorities of the future cohesion policy.

Minister Plevneliev will participate in a Ministerial meeting on Regional Policy in Zaragoza. Under the Lisbon Treaty, Cohesion policy has to use structural funds to stimulate and promote structural changes in the member countries. The forum is of a great importance for Bulgaria because of the effective implementation of the cohesion policy that may become a generator of growth and an instrument to overcome the effects of economic crisis.

Danuta Hubner, Chairman of the Commettee, will also participate in the meeting.
