Minister Plevneliev will turn the first sod on site for rehabilitation of water supply networks in Plovdiv

Tomorrow, 11 February 2010, Thursday, the first sod of LOT 4, part of the Reconstruction of part of the motorway and distribution pipelines of Plovdic, will be turned by the Minister of Regional Development and Public works Rosen Plevneliev in Plovdiv, at 11.00 am on “Maritza North” Blvd / under the bridge Vasil Aprilov/. The project is worth 2 848 198, 79 Euros and is financed by the EBRD.
Minister Plevneliev will also attend the closing ceremony in the occasion of completing LOT 2 at about 12.15, the same day. This is part of the same project that includes "Construction of parallel cascade in the north open culvert, under the railway line Plovdiv-Skutare and the ring road “East, within 150 meters of the bridge over the River Maritsa towards the village Skutare. The purpose of the facility is to ensure and guarantee the work of the newly built pumping station for wastewater “North”, and to increase the throughput of an existing cascade.
The total value of the project LOT 2 is 838 974.96 Euros, and it is financed by the EBRD.
The construction of LOT 2 and LOT 4 are part of a project “Reconstruction of the motorway and distribution pipelines of Plovdiv. The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works had launched a program to improve the quality of water services in Plovdiv in 2007, by means of "VIK” PLC. As the first phase of the program is expected that 14 446 million will be invested, 11.4 million of which will be given under an agreement with EBRD, 2,5 million – funs of the company, 0,3 million Euro grant funding from EBRD and 0, 3 million financed by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.
The program’s resources are used for rehabilitation of water supply network and the rehabilitation and upgrading the wastewater purifying facilities in Plovdiv.
