The Minister of Regional Development Desislava Terzieva started the rehabilitation of 19 km of the second class road Krivodol-Devene-Borovan.
Terzieva highlighted the importance of the road section: it connects two regions Vratsa and Pleven, where 450 000 inhabitants in total will use the repaired road after four months, which is the deadline for completion of the site. The investment amounts to BGN 10 million and is provided under OP “Regional Development” 2007-2013.
„The government’s policy is aimed to support the development of small populated areas and to reduce the imparities between the regions“, Terzieva stressed. „ In the North West region we found an infrastructure of poor condition that had not been repaired for years. We will continue our policy for reinstatement of second and third class roads so that people of small populated areas could also feel better and travel along roads of good quality“, the Minister said.
Terzieva pointed out that over BGN 9 million will be invested this year for repair of roads in Vratsa region under the Public Investment Program of the government.
Under the Public investment program the government will invest BGN 34 million in North West Bulgaria (the regions of Montana, Vratsa and Vidin) for various projects of the Municipalities and for road projects.
„This is a successful step towards implementation of our policy for reducing the imparities between the regions“, Terzieva concluded.
