Mr. Lazar Lazarov is the new Chairman of the Management Board of RIA

In relation to the forthcoming priority activities in the „Road Infrastructure Agency ", the contract with Mr. Sergey Mihalev as a Chairman of the Management Board of RIA was amicably terminated. His managerial skills have had a positive effect on the restructuring of the agency and its active management, at the start of one of the largest and most important infrastructure projects in the country.

The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Liliyana Pavlova appointed as a Chairman of the Management Board of RIA the current board member Mr. Lazar Lazarov. Thus, she managed to ensure the continuity of RIA and to avoid abandonment of the construction schedules and deadlines. According her opinion RIA is about to enter a period where the main activities’ focus is the technical implementation of the projects. This was the reason why an expert, with long term experienece in the road sector and various appropriate qualities, was placed at the Chairman posistion in RIA.

Lazarina Stoichkova is appointed for a new board member. She worked as a director in the API until now. Ms. Stoichkova will be responsible for the projects’ implementation under two European programs - Operational Programme "Regional Development" and Operational Programme "Transport". Her experience in the field will be of great importance and play a key role in the upcoming process of the projects’ preparation for the next programming period - 2014 - 2020.

Minister Pavlova expressed her gratitude to the former Chairman of RIA Eng Mihalev.
