MRDPW provides nearly BGN 463 million in support of large manufacturing enterprises in the region of Stara Zag

Nearly BGN 463 million will be received by large enterprises from municipalities in the region of Stara Zagora to compensate for the loss of jobs resulting from the closure of economic activities due to the decline of coal production. Organizations in Stara Zagora, Nova Zagora, Sliven, Yambol, Elhovo, Tundzha, Simeonovgrad, Harmanli, Topolovgrad, Dimitrovgrad and Haskovo can benefit from the assistance, the application for which has already started. The funds are provided by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works under the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027 under Priority 4 ‘Just Transition’ under the procedure ‘Support for productive investments in large enterprises in the Stara Zagora region’. The measure aims to provide effective support to the region for a balanced socio-economic transition towards climate neutrality. The funds will be directed to initial productive investments under Article 14 of Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 (undertakings in difficulty), as well as to the promotion of energy production from renewable energy sources.
The grant for a project proposal will be between BGN 1 000 000 and BGN 20 000 000 and will be granted in accordance with the applicable minimum/state aid regime.
The deadline for applications is 28.11.2025 at 17.00. The procedure is through the selection of project proposals in accordance with Article 25(1)(1) of the Act on the Management of European Funds under Shared Management.

Project proposals shall be submitted by applicants in electronic format only, signed with a qualified electronic signature in the UMIS via the ‘E-Application’ module at the following internet address: https://eumis2020.government.bg.
Applicants under the procedure may request clarifications in relation to the Guidelines up to three weeks before the expiry of the application period.
