The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) presented a report endorsing our country's regional policy reforms to implement multi-level governance and decentralisation.  The document was prepared within the framework of a joint project that our country has been implementing with the organization since 2018. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Denitsa Nikolova, who took part in an online meeting on multilevel governance and public investment for regional economic cooperation and development, organized by the OECD.

The Deputy Minister stressed that the report reflects in depth the situation in Bulgaria and has great added value for the foreseen future processes related to regional development, the implementation of projects in the new programming period 2021-2027 and the reforms in the regional sector.

The implementation of the new Regional Development Programme 2021-2027 will demonstrate the effectiveness of the reforms and pave the way for change on a larger scale, Nikolova said.  As part of them, our country is setting the implementation of integrated territorial investments in the regions.
