On 11 May 2004, Tuesday, the Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Cerovski will be present at the official start of the construction works on Lot № 8 - Sliven – Burgas under programme Transit Roads 3. The ceremony will be held at 13.30, at the entrance of the city of Burgas, Road І-6 /before METRO/. Programme Transit Roads 3, Lots 3, 4, 8 and 9 encompasses rehabilitation of road sections in the direction of the Pan European Transport Corridors № IV, VIII and IX on the territory of the country, about 245 km in length. The programme is funded by the EU ISPA Programme /75%/ and by the state budget /25%/. Lot № 8 is comprised of sections from the first-class road I–6 Sliven – Burgas, at the total length of 66,5 km. A contract has been concluded with the Bulgarian consortium PANVIA at the total amount of 6 139 283 еurо. PR & International Relations Directorate
