Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Tserovski and the Rector of Varna Free University (VFU) Chernorizets Hrabar, Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, will sign a Memorandum on cooperation work. The ceremony will be held on 15 September 2003 (Monday), at 16:00 hrs in the building of the University in the presence of His Excellency (HE) Dimitris Kourkoulas, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Bulgaria. At 18:00 hrs HE Ambassador Dimitris Kourkoulas will be awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of VFU Chernorizets Hrabar. The first stage of the implementation of the Memorandum between the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and VFU Chernorizets Hrabar envisages the launching of a European projects management master’s degree programme. The programme offers theoretical and practical training related to this country’s accession to and membership in the EU. It will focus on planning, development, management and implementation of projects financed under EU programmes. The master’s degree training programme covers three semesters within the framework of one year. Lecturers of VFU, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and the Universities of Brussels and Leeds will be invited to take part in the programme.
