Sun, mountain, water and hinting river lines form the image
A stylized rose composed of shapes symbolizing the sun, mountains, and water, with wavy lines evoking the Danube—this is the logo of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. The logo was created by Stanislav Sheitanov, who holds a degree in Graphic Design from the New Bulgarian University.
The logo highlights the unity in diversity, as well as Bulgaria’s leading role in fostering cooperation within the Danube Strategy. It symbolizes the pursuit for a balance between tradition and the future, nature and cultural connectivity, placing the Danube as the central driver of this unification.
As of 1 January this year, Bulgaria has assumed the rotating Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region for a one-year term, and the events – part of the Presidency calendar – are coordinated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.
The EU Strategy for the Danube Region is a cooperation instrument including 14 countries, 115 million people or one fifth of the EU’s inhabitants. Bulgaria is engaged in two priority areas related to security, culture and tourism.
