Sun, mountain, water and hinting river lines form the image
A stylized rose made of shapes symbolizing the sun, mountains and water, and wavy lines hinting at the Danube. This is the composition in the logo of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. Its author is Stanislav Sheitanov, who has a degree in Graphic Design from the New Bulgarian University.
The logo highlights the unity in diversity, as well as Bulgaria's leading role in promoting cooperation under the Danube Strategy. It symbolizes the striving for a balance between traditions and future, nature and cultural connectivity, placing the Danube as the central driver of this unification.
Since January 1, this year, Bulgaria has held the rotating presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region for one year, and the events – part of the Presidency calendar – are coordinated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.
The EU Strategy for the Danube Region is a cooperation instrument including 14 countries, 115 million people or one fifth of the EU's inhabitants. Bulgaria is engaged in two priority areas related to security, culture and tourism.
