The renovation of the first two buildings under the “Energy renewal of Bulgarian homes “project started

The construction and assembly works of the first two buildings, which will be renovated under the “Energy renewal of Bulgarian homes” project has started. 

Two apartment houses on Sofia city’s territory will be renovated, namely - apartment building 10 along 3 “Charles Darwin Street” in Izgrev Municipality and apartment building 17 in Ilinden Municipality, in “Zaharna fabrika” residential area. The activities include installation of thermal insulation in the external walls of the buildings, replacement of window frames with poor insulation characteristics with new PVC ones and installation of new glasses of high thermal resistance. Thermal insulation of the roof, floor and pipelines for warm water supply is to be inserted as well. A replacement of the system for warm water supply is envisaged as well.

The contractor for the construction and assembly works for both sites is “Building Company” single person Ltd. The term for completion the objects is 120 days. The total amount of the contract for the construction and assembly works is BGN 250 193, VAT included.

The implementation of the Project „Energy renewal of Bulgarian homes” is funded with BGN 50 109 134 in total under Operational program „Regional Development“2007-2013. Until its completion at the end of 2015 about 180 multifamily residencies are to be refurbished.

The Ministry of Regional Development publishes a public procurement announcement for selection of contractors for the construction and assembly works of the remaining buildings in compliance with the project. The procedure is held for seven positions: six of them - for the six areas of planning and one separate for the city of Sofia. The deadline for submission of the offers is 05.06.2014. The procurement’s estimated value is BGN 46 622 805 (VAT excluded).
