Tie-in „Trace Motorway” is the contractor on the site of Stara Zagora - Nova Zagora- “Trakia Highway”

The tie-in „Trace Motorway” is the contractor of LOT 2 “Trakia Highway”, from Stara Zagora to Nova Zagora. It was announced today, at a press conference by the President of the Board of Managers of the "Road Infrastructure Agency”- Bozhidar Yotov. The offer, presented by the company is BGN 137 868 000, including VAT, and it was over 30% lower than the other candidates’ offers.
The contractor was selected because of their readiness for mobilization, the proximity of construction sites, the company’s basis and quarries to the site, experience in building a stretch of the highway, said Bozhidar Yotov.
The Commissions decision was influenced by the fact that the selected companies have accepted a lower profit, in terms of severe economic crisis, in order to keep experienced people in the company.
Bozidar Yotov said that there are 10 days, so the decision may be appealed. All participants in the procedure will be informed in three days term. Today, he announced that the Agency’s Board of Managers decided that the public procurement for the construction of LOT 3 “Trakia Highway”(Nova Zagora – Yambol)  will be published. The provided budget for LOT 3 is approximately 3 million Euros per linear kilometer.
Generally speaking the documentation for LOT 3 “Trakia Highway” is not different from that of LOT 2, said Georgy Pregyov, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works. "We want a firm price tender and firm contractual period. These two parameters have to be fixed in the tender and contract", he explained. According to the revised documentation, the State assumes that it will bear some of the risks, but they  need to be supported. Deputy Minister Pregyov gave geological conditions as an example. He explained that if they are different from the set ones for one section, the state will take the risk, but only if a difference in geological conditions is found at the studied places. This means that the state will pursue the one who has done the research, said Deputy Minister Pregyov. The risk is for emergencies and may be extended to the stage, when the project activities are in process,  with no effect to the final price under the contract and the deadline.
