We should establish applicable feedback with your municipalities and try to provide assistance, said Minister Valentin Cerovski in front of mayors and deputy mayors of 15 towns at a meeting: Three Decisions Ahead. The National Expert Convent took the initiative for discussion with representatives of the local authorities, and the meeting was hosted by Kjustendil Mayor Dr. Ljubomir Stoyanov. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Foreign Investment Agency, the business, etc. Minister Valentin Cerovski announced that currently the three greatest challenges in the sphere of regional policy to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works are the following: to enhance the decentralization process by applying the Regional Development Act; to implement the water sector reform and private capital entering the water sector and for that purpose Water Regulator Bill, Water & Sewerage Utilities Bill and water strategy are under way; and the cadaster provision of the territory, and it has already been assigned to draw Black Sea Coast maps as well as maps of towns and regions which are of interest to investors. Representatives of the local authorities from Dospat, Topolovgrad, Silistra, Svoge, Belogradchik, Radomir, Purvomai, Nikopol, Troyan, Balchik, and other towns presented three priorities in the work of their municipality. Those include gas supply, public works, construction of road and water & sewerage infrastructure and new cross-border checkpoints, development of spa and cultural tourism.
