Between 26 April and 5 May 2004 will be held programmatic missions of the European Commission under the PHARE Programme. During the missions will be discussed the programmatic cycle under PHARE programme – Cross Border Cooperation /CBC/ Bulgaria – Greece – Romania by 2006, as well as the preparation of the programmatic documents for Bulgaria – Macedonia and Bulgaria – Serbia and Montenegro. The proposed projects under PHARE – Economic and Social Cohesion /ESC/ will be discussed as well. A project for rehabilitation of Road ІІ-34 Pleven – Nikopol, a project for an integrated management of the underground waters in the region of Dobrudzha and a project of Small Projects Fund are proposed under PHARE – CBC Bulgaria – Romania for incorporation into the Financial Memorandum /FM/ 2004. The total amount of the funds, which will be absorbed under PHARE Programme, is 8 mil. euro. Nine projects under PHARE – CBC Bulgaria – Greece are put forward for financing under FM 2004. These include construction of a road Novo Selo – Motorway Maritsa, micro entrepreneurship and self-employment in the sector of tourism, employment by improving sites of archeological and historic values, cross border monitoring and control over epidemic infections and parasitosis, an integrated use of thermal waters of the region of the river Erma, the enforcement of the European frame directive for the waters in the region of the river Mesta, funds for preparation of projects and technical assistance and small projects fund. The financing for the projects under PHARE is worth 20 mil. euro. Under PHARE – ESC will be discussed projects for an integrated scheme for regional development, for enhancing local potential tourism development, for strengthening the administrative capacity related to the preparation of the work on the EU structural funds and for transforming former military bases. In regard to the cross border cooperation programmes with Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro, the priority measures to be included in the programmatic document will be discussed.
