The admission of our country to the Organisation is among the priorities of the session

 

Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Delyana Ivanova represents Bulgaria in the 46th session of the Regional Development Policy Committee (RDPC) of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The session is being held at the headquarters of the international organisation in Paris. Among the priorities of the event with the participation of world leaders are the support and reconstruction of Ukraine after the war, the accession of Bulgaria, Brazil, Croatia, Peru and Romania to the OECD and strengthening contacts with Southeast Asia, Latin America and Africa.

"It is crucial to strengthen cross-border cooperation between levels of government in crisis management. We must continue to pursue the goals of sustainable development until 2030, fair green transition and digitalization, integrated approach to rural and urban development and management of regional inequalities and the circular economy," said Deputy Minister Ivanova at the forum.

The OECD has experience from various countries, whose populations have grown significantly over the years from migrant flows due to military conflicts. This experience includes the whole process of their integration and its impact on regional development.

During the 46th session of the organisation, meetings of the working groups on urban policy, territorial indicators, management at various levels of government and public investment were held.
