During his two days’ working visit to Tripoli, Minister Valentin Tserovski met with Libyan Vice Premier Maatuk

During his two days’ working visit to Tripoli, Minister Valentin Tserovski met with Libyan Vice Premier Maatuk Mohammed Maatuk and with Minister of Planning Dr. Taher al-Hadi al- Juhaimy. Minister Tserovski and Libyan Vice Premier Maatuk discussed the resumption of work of the Joint Bulgarian-Libyan Committee for Economic Cooperation. The Libyan side supported the proposal to hold the Committee’s next meeting early next year. Minister Tserovski and Libyan Vice Premier Maatuk also discussed ways of increasing the presence of Bulgarian construction companies on the Libyan market. The Libyan side suggested that joint Bulgarian-Libyan ventures would be an effective formula. The Minister of Planning Dr. Taher al-Hadi al- Juhaimy informed Minister Tserovski about the Libyan Government’s intention to allocated considerable funds in the coming fiscal year to housing and infrastructure development. During the visit, Mr. Emil Kotsev, Executive Director of Technoexportstroi EAD and a member of the Bulgarian delegation, and Mr. Abdulrahman Karfah, Director General of the NESCO Holding (The Libyan national company for engineering services and equipment in the framework of the Kaddafi Foundation), signed an agreement on the establishment of joint venture. Minister Taher al-Hadi al- Juhaimy welcomed the move and confirmed that it was appropriate as a way of regaining Bulgaria’s positions on the Libyan market. Minister Tserovski and his Libyan counterparts shared the view that in construction and tourism the two countries have common interests which will hopefully be developed in future.
