During the first day from his official visit to Great Britain the Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Cerovski had meetings with representatives of the Environment Agency, the Office of Water Services /OFWAT – the water regulator of Great Britain/, as well as with the companies Severn Trent Water International, and М6 Тоll. The meetings took place in Birmingham. The topic of the conversation with Mr. Roger White, Director of the Infrastructural Development Programme of the Environment Agency, was the way of management of water resources and the experience of England in that direction. During his meeting with Alison Dedicoat at OFWAT Minister Cerovski discussed the water services regulation and the existing related legislative basis. Greg Weatherdon, Director of Operations at Severn Trent Water, presented Minister Valentin Cerovski with the experience of the company in providing water and sewerage services in Great Britain. The company is the biggest private operator in the United Kingdom. The topic of discussion with the Managing Director of М6 Тоll, Тhomas Fanning, was the first toll motorway in England which is constructed by the company, as well as the difficulties which the contractors encountered during the implementation of the project. Today Minister Valentin Cerovski will meet in London with the Construction, Small and Medium Business Minister Mr. Nigel Griffiths and with Mr. Richard Bird, Director of Water Directorate in the Ministry of Environment, Food Industry and Rural Areas. The programme also includes conversations with representatives of the British Construction and Consultants Bureau and British Water.
