Five offers for Construction Works for Rehabilitation and Extension of the Water Supply Network and of the Sewerage Network in the Town of Ruse

On 24 April 2007 in the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works was held the public opening session for the open international tender procedure for Construction Works for Rehabilitation and Extension of the Water Supply Network and of the Sewerage Network in the Town of Ruse, Bulgaria Ref.: EUROPEAID/123327/D/WKS/BG, within ISPA Measure “Integrated Water Project in the Town of Ruse” The above mentioned components are co-financed by: 1. Financing Memorandum between European Commission and Republic of Bulgaria - ISPA Measure 2005/BG/16/P/PE/004 2. National Budget The Works Contracts will be concluded under FIDIC, Conditions of Contract for Construction, (“Red Book”, first Edition 1999) with respect to the particulars of Bulgarian Law of the Spatial Planning and supplementary Ordinances. Description of the contracts Lot 1 comprises the Water Supply Works: • Rehabilitation - total length approx. 18 915 m, diameters from 110 to 315 mm, material: PE-HD to be implemented in 39 locations • Extension - total length approx. 2 640 m, diameters from 160 to 250 mm, material: PE-HD. Lot 2 comprises the Sewerage Works: • Extension - total length approx. 11 500m, mainly combined system, diameters from 200 to 1800 mm including main collectors, main and branch sewers and corresponding infrastructure such as manholes, storm gullies, crossing existing utilities, passing under a subway, a siphon and an outfall headwall materials: PVC and Fiber Glass to be implemented in 24 locations • Rehabilitation -totallLength approx. 450 m, diameters from 225 and 300 mm, material - PVC. to be implemented in 1 location The procurement of the Works Contracts must be managed in accordance with the "Practical Guide to Contract Procedures for EC External Actions” (last update 2006). Five offers were submitted for this tender as per the attached table.
