Religious temples all over the country are being restored with EU funds and thus, in addition to restoring their old splendour, they are being preserved for generations and made more attractive for pilgrims and tourists.  Among the landmark sites currently being worked on are the Kremikov Monastery and the Church of St.'s   Cyril and Methodius in Burgas. The building of the synagogue in Vidin will be transformed into a cultural centre, which will also have a place for rituals of the Jewish community. The investments in them are from the Operational Programme "Regions in Growth" and other programmes managed by the Ministry of Regional Development and Regional Development.

After the construction and conservation works in one of the oldest temples - the Kremikov Monastery "St.  Holy Martyr George the Victorious", it will become the spiritual center of Sofia region.  The monastery will renovate the roof and drainage of the medieval church of St. George, which contains some of the oldest frescoes in Europe. The archaeological excavations in the area of the holy monastery will also be socialised.  A northern monastery wing will be built, which will house an information centre "Sofia Holy Forest", a museum exposition with interactive equipment presenting the 40 medieval monasteries around Sofia, a camp for 100 people, a chapel and a bell tower. The project also includes monastery workshops that will be open to visitors.  There will also be workshops to promote traditional crafts of the place. Facilities for summer school camps are also planned, where talks on religion, music and art will be held with the young people, as well as new monastic cells, rooms for accommodation, etc.

Currently renovation works are taking place and accessibility is provided to the church St. Archangel Michael in the town of Rila, built in the 12th century and declared a cultural monument of national importance. Another project there has already partially reconstructed the frescoes.

In Burgas is carried out facade conservation and restoration of the building of St.'s   Cyril and Methodius. Its stone surfaces are being cleaned of layered atmospheric dirt and restored.  Decorative elements, the original relief and appearance of the facade will be restored.

Currently the churches St. Petka and St. George in Ruse are also being restored. Restoration and conservation of the ruins of St. Mary's Church in Ruse have already been carried out. Osikovitsa, Pravets municipality.

One of the symbols of Vidin - the synagogue, from a former Jewish house of prayer will become a cultural center and will be named after the great artist Jules Pasquin.  The building of the second largest synagogue in the country was built in 1894. It will be restored in its original form, in which it was until 1950, to become a multifunctional hall for various cultural events, exhibitions, concerts, conferences, etc.

In recent years, other temples have been renovated, including St.  John the Baptist and St.  Paraskeva Church in Nessebar, the Church of St.  George in Arbanassi, etc.
