Minister Cerovski will attend the opening ceremony of the construction works of the road section Sofia-Kulata along the National Optical Motorway /NOM/ of Cable Tel. The ceremony will be held on 16 March 2004, Tuesday, at 14 o’clock, in Blagoevgrad. The road-bed Sofia-Kulata will connect Bulgaria with Greece by a hi-tech optical cable infrastructure and will provide the supply of a high-speed national and intertnational optical connection. NOM will include more than 1 500 km motorway optical cables at the total amount of 10 mil. euro. The whole road-bed of the national network is due to be put into operation at the beginning of 2005. The Contractor of the construction works is the state-owned company TECHNOEXPORTSTROY LTD. The ceremony will be attended by the ambassadors of the USA and Greece in Bulgaria – His Excellency James Pardew and His Excellency Prokopios Mandzuranis, the representatives of local authorities and the four districts, which territory is crossed by that road-section, and other official guests.
