Minister Gagauzov discussed with the World Bank a Project for development of the municipality infrastructure

Minister Asen Gagauzov spoke today with Mr. Sudipto Sarkar – Lead Specialist from the World Bank. The meeting took place in the framework of the present Mission of the Bank in the country. During the meeting was discussed the preparation of a project for development of the municipality infrastructure. The project is in the context of the Strategy for Partnership with Bulgaria and its purpose is to help the country at the absorption of the EU grants and to support the priority investments. The Strategy, which is in its finalization phase, includes a Project for the road infrastructure where the priority plan is for the rehabilitation of the II and III class roads. The Municipality Infrastructure Development Project envisages identification of the investment projects at regional level a well as strengthening of the institutional capacity at central and local level. During the meeting was discussed the possibility for actualization of the Spatial Planning Plans of the municipalities at the sea coast. It is a zone with huge investment potential and the actualized plans will serve as a basis for the future public-private partnerships. Public Relations and International Activities Directorate
