Minister Pavlova: Over BGN 300 millions have been provided from OPRD to make tourism popular

Operational program „Regional development" provides over BGN 300 million to improve tourism and make it popular”, announced the Minister of regional development and public works Lilyana Pavlova. It will become possible by signing contracts with 28 municipalities for marketing and advertising of a tourist product.

„The amendments of the Tourism Act allow to popularize this field not only at a regional but also at national level. Today’s contracts allow to open local potential as it is important no only to built, but also to advertise ”, said Lilyana Pavlova.

The Minister of regional development and public works and the Head of the Managing Unit of OPRD Denitsa Nikolova handed checks for over BGN 20 million. 49 projects have been filed, so they can be financed under this scheme but only 28 are approved. Each of them includes 3 municipalities, so local authorities could help each other, not concur, underlined the Minister. She remained that applications for financing under the scheme have to be sent by the end of September.
