Minister Valentin Cerovski met with the Czech Transport Minister Mr. Milan Shimonovsky and his team during his official visit to the Czech Republic.
Minister Cerovski presented the motorway network of Bulgaria. Minister Shimonovsky presented the experience of the Czech Republic in the construction of roads and motorways and the introduction of the vignette system. The team of Minister Milan Shimonovsky showed interest for the Bulgarian motorway concession draft projects.
Decentralization and absorption of EU funds were the main topics of the discussion between Minister Valentin Cerovski and the Regional Development Deputy Minister Mr. Petr Forman, who is directly responsible for the implementation of the regional policy in the Czech Republic. The contacts between the two ministries will continue on an expert level. Mr. Jiri Bridl, Chairman of the Commission on Regional Development, Local Self-government and Environment in the Czech Senate introduced Mr. Cerovski to the policy of the country with respect to the housing fund and the panel blocks renovation programmes. It was agreed that experts from the Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works would make a visit to the Czech Republic to get thoroughly acquainted with the Czech practice in that sphere. The Czech Republic showed commitment to provide Bulgaria with the panel buildings renovation programmes.
During his three-day official visit to the Czech Republic Minister Cerovski met with Karlovy Vary Mayor Mr. Zdenek Roubinek and the Deputy District Governor of the Plzen District Mr. Stanislav Rampas.
