Minsters Plevneliev and Kalanovic discussed the development of the regions

The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Rosen Plevneliev and the
Minister for the National Investment Plan of Serbia Verica Kalanovic discussed the experience in the field of EU funds management for the road infrastructure and the development of the regions.
Minister Plevneliev presented the priorities in the development of the transport infrastructure to the Serbian delegation, and also put emphasis on the forthcoming projects by the Operational Programs “Transport” and “Regional Development”. He accented on the necessity of compliance with the European legislation while implementing the procedures of project executers, so that equal access is granted to everyone who wants to participate.
On request of the Serbian side, the Managing Director of the FLAG Fund Emil Savov presented the Fund’s activities, the necessity of its establishment and the process of loan lending. He noted that up to this moment there are 46 contracts for EUR 28 million. This sum supports the implementation of municipal investments for the Operational Programs, amounting to EUR 85 million.
Minister Plevneliev and Minister Kalanovic expressed their expectations for future mutual collaboration between Bulgaria and Serbia, based on the experience in cross-border partnership between the two countries.
