The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has developed a project for Methods for assessment of the admissible losses of water in the water supply systems. The project aims to define frames for the basic rules and to introduce compulsory approach in all water supply and sewage companies for limitation of the losses volume. The development of the Methods envisages control, analysis and assessment of the condition of the water supply systems in the urbanized territories and defining the volume of the water losses and terms for reaching the admissible losses volume. The requirements to the operators for conduction of actions for diminishing water losses have been defined in the project. In their business plans they will have to develop programs for diminishing water losses through envisaging finance and technical resources for their implementation. The development of the Methods is under implementation of the Law of regulation of the water supply and sewerage services. The Methods are due to be introduced for public discussion in November.
