The Council of Ministers endorsed the regional development plans of the six planning regions

The regional development plans of the six planning regions for the period 2007 – 2013 have been approved today on a session of the Council of Ministers. The plans were developed in active and constructive dialogue with all interested parties – the Government, the regional and local authorities, district administrations, the NGO sector, economical and social partners, underlined the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Asen Gagauzov. The documents approved today give the vision for development of the six planning regions for 2007 – 2013 and define the strategic goals for the integrated steady and local development. The regional development plans are to establish a basis for coordination of the regional development policy with the policies in the separate sectors. They comprise the defined indicatively financial resources necessary for their realization, including through the EU financial aid. The plans have been developed in compliance with the provisions of the adopted by the Government in April 2005 National Strategy for Regional Development of the Republic of Bulgaria 2005 – 2015 as well as with the priorities and the specific goals of the district strategies for development for the same period.
